Abstract
The long-neglected relations between the European Union (EU) and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) have been dominated by economic negotiations since neither the EU nor ASEAN hold vital importance for each other. While the two regional unions differ in many ways, their post-Cold War policies and responses were rather similar. This article looks at the relations between the EU and ASEAN, particularly the affairs centered around politics, and analyzes the extent of the two organizations’ relationships with each other.
