Abstract
This article summarizes major political developments across Southeast Asia in 2004, focusing on electoral results & security threats from both internal & external sources. The role of other nations (the US, PRC, Japan, & Australia) in Southeast Asian security matters is examined & bilateral cooperative measures among various ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) states are reviewed.
