Lind, Jennifer M., and Thomas J. Christensen

Abstract
In this article, Lind argues against Christensen’s point that the U.S.-Japan alliance provokes China and threatens the security of East Asia. In fact, as Lind explains, the U.S. does not have to limit the role of Japan in the two nations’ alliance because the U.S. foreign policy in East Asia should not depend on the fear of regional conflict.
