Abstract
This paper assesses what types of navigation are permitted by warships in foreign exclusive economic zones. To do so, this paper determines the correct method for interpreting the Law of the Sea treaty. It finds that warship navigation in foreign exclusive economic zones is permitted unless proscribed by Art 56 or is not for peaceful purposes.
