Dr. Yuan-Ming Alvin Yao is a participant in the Rising Powers Initiative’s Nuclear Debates in Asia project with a focus on Taiwan. He is currently the director of research at the Prospect Foundation. He was previously an adjunct research associate at the MacArthur Center for Security Studies, the deputy director of research at the Foundation on Asia-Pacific Peace Studies, and a military instructor of political warfare at the Army Nuclear, Biological and Chemical College. He has also spent time as a visiting fellow at the Center for Northeast Asia Policy Studies at The Brookings Institution and an associate research fellow at the Elliott School. Dr. Yao earned his Ph.D. of East Asian Studies at the National Chengchi University in addition to a Master of International Relations at the National Taiwan University.
